Update [4:03EDT]: New York Supreme Court Judge Michael Obus Thursday afternoon approved Dominique Strauss-Kahn's bail package. He will be released on bail with $1 million cash, a $5 million bond, and around the clock monitoring, as proposed. He is scheduled to be released from Rikers Island on Friday, after the bail is posted. Earlier, it was revealed that Strauss-Kahn, the former head of the International Monetary Fund accused of sexually assaulting a chambermaid last Saturday, has been indicted on charges identical to those initially alleged. They include criminal sexual act in the first degree, attempted rape in the first degree, and sexual abuse in the first degree. The most serious of these -- criminal sexual act -- carries a maximum sentence of 25 years in prison. His arraignment is scheduled for June 6.  [End of post.]
